rap1
(1) Small GTP-binding protein which seems to antagonise ras activity. Has antimitogenic activity, seems to be involved in NGF-induced neuronal differentiation and T-cell activation. Activated by CRK adaptor proteins and rap-specific GEFs. See tuberous sclerosis.
(2) Rhoptry-associated protein 1 of Plasmodium falciparum, a potential component of an anti-malarial vaccine.
